About Amelia's
There is such a wonder of creative talent in Donegal and the whole of the country at the moment. Appreciation of quality and beauty seem to have been re-developed since the latest recession. Maybe it was because people had to emigrate that interest and pride in our culture was renewed. Why we wanted our culture to be showcased to the world by quality and creativity.
Either way, it was this recession that caused me, in 2010, to create an area in my antique shop for contemporary Irish craft. This area has now grown into it's own little shop in Letterkenny, across the street from the antique shop I have run for 28 years ( www.mourneantiques.com ) The name for the shop is 'Amelia's', after my grandmother.
It has sprouted it's own character, feel and space. Space to house the wonderful selection of work by local artists and makers that have been personally selected for your enjoyment. There are prices for everyone, everything from beautiful cards and soaps right up to gallery-quality art and ceramics.
Have a look through this site to get an idea of what's on offer but if you get a chance do call in and see the shop where either myself or Trish will guide you through what's on offer for your home or give advice on ideas for a wide variety of gifts.
If we can help with your selection here please do get in touch.
We look forward to hearing from you!
